Ava and daddy

The Office: "Enough of your magical riddles!"

Brandon and I love watching The Office, especially Michael and Dwight. The show is so real. If you have ever worked in an office setting, I am sure you will relate to the funny episodes like the intranet not working or awkward coworker moments.

Here is a funny clip that I love!

It's on the Office official site:

She is getting so big. I can't believe how small she was just in june!

Sherlock Holmes the movie

Brandon got me into reading Sherlock Holmes' last year and since then I devoured all of the books. Although they are classics, they are anything but stuffy. I loved reading them and trying to figure out the ending.

So I was pretty excited when I heard that a movie was coming out soon. Robert Downey Junior will play the great Holmes onscreen and Rachel McAdams is slated to tackle the role of the beautiful woman from "A Scandal in Bohemia."

Read these books before the movie, they are great!

"apple picking"

Ty and Ava loved the apples and called them "balls."

Shannon, Ty, Ava and I at Lynd's Fruit Farm. Shannon and I are due a month apart.

This was the closest we got to apple picking behind the farm by the outhouses. He. he.

Shannon and I wanted to take Ava and Ty apple picking this week, but by the time we got there, they were both tuckered out. So, we just picked up some of the yum apples, along with some apple cider, concord grapes (yum) and other good stuff at Lynd's Fruit Farm.

According to Lynds, most of the apples will last for many months in your fridge!

The farm is about 15 minutes from Easton Town Center and has various apples you can pick, but only on the weekends. Lynds does sell all of their veggies and fruits during the week.

Here are some of our pictures. Enjoy!

Things no one tells you about pregnancy 2.

2. You will not have one night of sound sleep.
(things no one tells you about being prego)

So, I have been having a really hard time getting a good night sleep since I am entering the last trimester. I know it's God's way of getting the mom ready for those sleepless nights, but I am just dreaming (literally) about having a full night sleep without bathroom breaks, endless tossing and turning and thoughts like, "I wonder how we are going to get Ava's new room organized" going through my head.

And every morning when I wake up I think, "it's the beginning of the end" he. no more sleeping for us when Sophia is here! She is usually up and kicking in utero around 9, midnight and 4 or 5 a.m.

With Ava, we literally got 4-5 hours of sleep on a good night. Those late nights were so hard with Ava that Brandon and I had to do split shifts and do half the night. I would usually take the second shift (1:30 - 6), while Brandon took the first shift (9-1:30ish or 2). I just know God is good and will give us strength, but right now, I am afraid. he. he. I can go without sleep a lot better than Brandon, but after two weeks or so my face looks like a ghost, I lose my appetite and the smallest things seem humongous!

So, please Lord, help Sophia sleep!!!

Belly belly belly

1. you will be incessantly irritated and be able to speak your mind easier.
(things no one tells you about pregnancy)

The other night I was walking around our block around 8 p.m. after Ava was in bed when two junior high kids started yelling at me, "hi mom, hey, hi!" (obviously because i was prego). I ignored them at first as I left them turning at a corner, which is what I usually do, but on the way home I got really annoyed. Why should they have me feeling stupid and why are they yelling at a total stranger?

Twenty minutes later I was going to the same place in the road and saw them riding their bikes.
So, when they started yelling again at me (I know, where are there parents?), I turned around and said, "You know what? I am pregnant (pointing at my belly for emphasis), and I don't appreciate being harrassed by you guys. Do I point at you and yell? No! So please don't yell at the top of your lungs at me!"

After my outrage, they did the comic book blink, blink, and slunk away (i hope to their homes!) and never have I been yelled at again in my neighborhood.

Brandon was like, "I am really proud of you!" because usually I would just ignore it. He. He. don't mess with a prego after a long day!

Then, the other day, I was walking into WalMart and a young kid looks at me and screams, "Hey, do you like my bedspread?" I ignored him and two girls said, "Oh, shot down."

So, I am just wondering, what is it about the belly that gets kids yelling at you? Any ideas?

Charlotte is here! (baby no. nine in the kuhns fam)

Baby Charlotte is here!

Mom and Kelly peeking at Charlotte while she takes a snooze. Charlotte was healthy like her dad and weighed 4 lbs and 15 oz.
Proud daddy Luke and Ava were checking out Charlotte's sweet smile.

Kelly and Luke had baby Charlotte last friday! Charlotte was so adorable. I thought she looked like Ethan when he was a baby! They stayed at Riverside until Sunday when they went home on Kelly's birthday. What a homecoming. They had 70 mph winds as the hurricane swept through Ohio, and they went to mom and dad's to weather it out for the night! What a crazy birthday for Kelly and homecoming. There are now nine grandchildren for mom and dad.

Baby Sophia will be number 10~

Summer love 2

Ava and Ethan are two little peas in a pod at the C-bus zoo. They had a great time!
Daddy loves (sike) to take pics. You can always tell because he gives the fake smile when he doesn't want to take a picture!
This is how my girls roll! Brandon and I were laughing one night when two little neighbor boys pulled up in their "Escalade." It was so cute we had to get emi and ava in it.
Um, can you say Brandon?
Ava and the cat have a mutual love/irritated relationship. On any given day, they can both love each other and annoy each other. Ava loves to pull his tail and Simba pushed ava out of his favorite window chair.

Dad's birthday

Happy Birthday poppa!

Here are some pics from dad's birthdaypalooza. It was August 31 and even though they were in Colorado, we celebrated dad's birthday. Happy late birthday dad!

We had red velvet cake with strawberries and ice cream and Grandma Yoder came and helped us celebrate. Mom was already out in Colorado.

Saving money.

So, with two littls girls soon to be here, we have been trying to save some money and look at our budget, a task that can bring with it much fun...um, gulp.

Without a budget, I really don't know what we would do. I love to tally up our fixed and unfixed expenses and neatly bundle everything under a column. Except as you probably have experienced, something always happens every month that takes away your neat little plan.

Medications, food costs, medical bills, car repairs or other items can really put my neat little columns into a tizzy.

Soooo, what to do?

Recently, Brandon and I have taken a look at what is important to us (um, cable he. he--i love my food network) and what is expendable (flat screen tv, eating out lots, new furniture besides baby room, and less trips to starbucks).

I guess I am of the philosophy that I would like to pay once for something nice than buy something three times! So, i am willing to save.

I will keep you posted how we do.
