Annie!

Ava and Georgia at Dublin Scioto's production of Annie. The girls loved it!
Lisa and Ella in her pink bow. Love her bows. Thanks for planning this Lisa!
Ava and I before the show. We lasted the whole 2.5 hours. So proud of Ava, she loved the singer Annie and put on her own show when we got home.

Ava at gymnastics

Doing a stand on the bars with Coach Karen at Integrity.
Ava in her new gymnastics outfit on the rings. She is amazing. She hangs on for a long time and then tucks her legs to her chest.

For Ava's birthday present Brandon and I thought it would be cool to give Ava a choice of a lesson for a gift. At first it was ice skating, but then Aunt Becca had the genius idea to tell her no, try gymnastics. Ava loves her coach and looks forward to going all the time.

The reason why she switched from ballet? Her older cousins who she adores and wants to be like. She always says, "I want to be big like my big cousins."

Our conversation went something like this...

Ava: "Mom, I don't want to do ballet anymore."
Me: "Um, why?"
Ava: "Ballet is boring."
Me: What? When did you learn boring.
Ava: Brad told me, "ballet is boring."
Love that.

Kinsale Race recap

On the way, butterflies! My iphone band fell off at mile 3 and I held on to it for the last mile. Going to use my shuffle next time.
Ava and Sophia were holding hands on the way. Sophia loves her Dora and paci.
Almost time to go to the starting line!
I loved this photo in black and white. Girls are chowing on free snacks after the race.
Whoohoo. Brandon my awesome husband who waited for me at the finish. He's training with me right now for the Cap City Half Marathon. Go babe! He's fast!

Race Recap
So...I guess the good Lord was gracious enough to take the 20-plus winds to....Zero! At 6 pm the weather was a balmy 50 degrees with no wind. We got there around 5:20 pm and got a great parking spot 15 cars from the start.

The Kinsale 4-Mile Race was amazing. A great crowd for St. Patties, around 900 people and lots of free goodies and a great race vibe. It was professional and well-managed. And the St. Patties wearing people made it so fun. Love it.

I was really nervous before the start because I had been sick before that week and hadn't run for two weeks trying to get better. I started by the 9 minute mile pacer for about half a mile and then ran in front of her for the rest of the race. Overall, I felt good I was just really thirsty.

I ran the 4-miles at a pretty consistent 8:43 pace and finished at 34.42. This was my first race and I just wanted to finish being able to sprint the last leg. The first mile I felt great, but miles 2-4 were on the golf course, which were full of hills and curves. I was really happy with my time!

Brandon and the girls were my awesome support crew. I love these guys. Ava and Sophia had a ball and just took in all of the green balloons and ribbons.

Smoothie Time!

Finished product. Smashing success.
Add a little juice at the end, if you want the smoothie sweeter. I just keep the smoothie mix in the fridge if we have extra and use it as a post-nap snack for the girls. Spinach, fruit, yogurt--when will your kids ever eat all of these things together?
Whole foods raspberries, banana, Stonyfield Plain Yogurt *less sugar, sparkling water and spinach.
Ava getting ready for smoothie time!

Ava and I are sick at home and it's hard getting her to eat good stuff so I got some fruit, spinach (trust me you won't taste it) and other ingredients and made a smoothie to enjoy in the sun.

We love smoothie time around here. You can literally stuff it full of healthy items so your kids will eat the good stuff. Pink straws? Even better.

Gulp..30 mile hour winds

I am getting ready for the Kinsale 4-mile race and there are 20-30 mph winds. I just checked weatherchannel.com and there is a supposed to be sunshine and only 19 mph winds. Whoohoo.

Goodbye PR, just want to finish in a respectable time now!

I just had a pre-race meal of half pbj, salt and pepper chips and smoothie (half cup). Yum. It was so good.

Also, I have my starbucks ready to go in the fridge!

I will post pics later.

And pictures of my finds at our local antique stores! I scored a $15 rocking chair, candle and a late 1800s cradle for $25. The cradle rocked and was wood and the girls loved it.
