Ava's talking a ton and sophia's our koala bear

I feel like I never blog anymore, but I am always pooped when the kids are down to sleep. Ava is now 2 and Sophia is six months old (mental note: schedule darn six-month appointment). Since my sister, Jessie, has been here, we have been pretty busy this summer.

I told Brandon I don't think we have ever had a busier summer. It seemed like we were gone ever single weekend with something going on. However, it's been really nice to see family and friends in town.

Ava is now talking in full sentences. Her favorite thing to say is: "What's that?" She says this to everything, especially before bedtime. I thought I would go loco this morning because she was saying it over and over and over and well, you get the picture. Ava is so curious about everything and loves to learn new things. She watches hand motions and will mimick them. She loves to do things herself, "I do, I do," and just got a new pair of crocs that she loves to wear. When she stays still long enough to give you a hug, she will grab on with her whole body and say, "Mommy or Daddy!" She is so sweet and a great dancer. She was rolling on the ground dancing the other day to her little piano.

Sophia is six months and our little koala bear. When you get her in the morning, her little eyes get so round and she is so excited to see me. I love it. Sometimes I go really quietly into her room if she is playing and go, "boo!" She gives me a look like, "Mom!" Don't do that! :)

She loves to play with her spoons while we are feeding her bananas, her favorite, or applesauce. She is taking two naps still and goes to bed around 7 or 7:30. Sometimes even 6:30! She is still eating one time at night. She has the cutest pair of baby legs she wears and loves to go on walks with mommy and ava. During our walks, she is so chill. She sits back and watches the world around her. If Ava is the wild and crazy one, Sophia is the relaxed and laid back baby. As long as her three big needs are met (diaper, food, sleep), she is golden. People always talk about how relaxed she is. She can go from zero to 60 though if she is tired. And she hates to be dressed for bed.

Anyways, I thought it would be nice to post some updates.

God has been so good to us. I just really feel like He is all around us every day in the littlest things. I was telling my friend today how being a stay-at-home can sometimes be challenging because your payoff isn't a raise or a pat on the back from a boss. The transition from working full time for five years to being at home has still been an adjustment. But, I keep on praying and thinking that until God brings the right job to me, I am supposed to be at home. I don't really know what we are going to do, but I know right now I am in the right place.

And with that, the baby is crying and probably needs to eat. Right on cue.
ha.
