Oct. 28 was ava's shower. We got so many wonderful things and got a chance to celebrate ava's birthday! here are some fun pictures of the double shower with Kelly and I. I just felt so lucky to have so many people there supporting us and ava. We prayed for ava for a year and a half and at the shower I shared how God's promises are true - even when we have to wait.

Both Kelly and I had surgery to get pregnant. In fact, our surgeries were a week apart. We both found out we were pregnant and were a month apart! Kelly is due in December and we are due Jan. 28.

Ava is our prayer and the result of God's love, and Brandon and I are eagerly looking forward to being parents. I feel like I know ava already and although it's hard to put it into words, she was always here with us even when we were praying for a baby. God is so good and so faithful!

Just getting ready for the shower was so much fun. My aunt rita, cindy and grandma yoder came over and helped prepare the food and sharon and christina joined us from michigan. all i can say is that ava is going to get lots of hugs! Let the swooping begin.

so, baby is now around 1 lb and around 13 inches long. We are around 23 weeks and i feel like i keep growing and growing! Brandon likes to feel ava kicking and he always puts his hand on my belly and has only dad and daughter talks. He's going to be such a good dad! We go in next week to make sure ava is a girl, but i am pretty sure she is! I have been shopping a lot for ava - little girl clothes are just so darn cute that they are my weakness.

We had our 10-year reunion last Saturday and it really went well. It was so nice to see everyone and it was nice to see all of the committee's hard work pay off. We had been planning the reunion for a year so it was a lot of planning and hard work that went into it! Literally everyone said at first how weird it was to see everyone and then it was just like old times.

The leaves also are changing and the colors are so beautiful outside. I told brandon that we need to go to hocking hills to see the colors of the leaves!

Ultrasound jelly is kind've gross!

Last week we went to our ultrasound appointment. I was literally getting ready to throw up I was so nervous! I think the fact that it being a boy or girl made it seem more real. You just feel these little karate chops inside you and it's hard to imagine what baby looks like.

Well, the Dr. was moseying around trying to get the baby to move -- baby was moving but it had its little back to us, showing off its spine and little bottom. The dr. put the table down farther trying to get baby to move, Brandon, mom and I tried to talk baby into moving and finally Dr. Mini said she was 80 percent positive it was a ... girl! I was sure it was a girl even at the beginning but wanted to make sure. The whole thing was so beautiful and really made us even more excited about having Ava. Yes, her name is going to be Ava Rene' Shmidt - Ava means bird and Rene' is my middle name. We do have one more ultrasound to make sure it's a girl. Hopefully, it is because i went shopping already for girl clothes. It's like you are dressing up a little barbie doll!

Anyways, we are trying to tie up all the loose ends before baby comes like fixing our jeep, cleaning and having a garage sale, and more cleaning! Also, I think brandon is going to dig some more flower beds for me this weekend! Joy! I get to put more plants in the garden! I can't wait to plant flowers with ava!

21 Weeks means we are now past the halfway point! Only 19 more weeks!
