Saving money.

So, with two littls girls soon to be here, we have been trying to save some money and look at our budget, a task that can bring with it much fun...um, gulp.

Without a budget, I really don't know what we would do. I love to tally up our fixed and unfixed expenses and neatly bundle everything under a column. Except as you probably have experienced, something always happens every month that takes away your neat little plan.

Medications, food costs, medical bills, car repairs or other items can really put my neat little columns into a tizzy.

Soooo, what to do?

Recently, Brandon and I have taken a look at what is important to us (um, cable he. he--i love my food network) and what is expendable (flat screen tv, eating out lots, new furniture besides baby room, and less trips to starbucks).

I guess I am of the philosophy that I would like to pay once for something nice than buy something three times! So, i am willing to save.

I will keep you posted how we do.

Rachel visits from phoenix

Liv and Ava grab a quick hug.

Rachel, Luke and Cadence chill out on the porch.
Eman and Cadence breaking out the toys at Momma's.
Poppa and Ava out for a walk.
Girl's lunch! We went to Katzinger's with Rachel, Mom, Kelly, Becca and Cadence. Loved the reuben.
Rachel, livvy and Cadence traveled here from Phoenix in August for a two-week visit. Here are some of the fun times we had. I know, i am behind as usual posting.

grocery sick list

So, I was not feeling too hot today so brandon got my grocery sick list, a list you give your husband/wife when you aren't feeling well.
Do you have one? Comment me!

Here was mine today:
  • Red cherry cough drops
  • chicken pot pies--i wish someone would make mine
  • sprite
  • Whole fruit juice popsicles

More pictures from our vacation

Our little night owl was up on our 13-hour trip down to N.C. at 1 a.m. Needless to say, we don't know if we want to repeat the night trip.

My belly is as big as yours! Ava loves to show her belly. We were at the sand dunes, and I sat for a minute and Ava was showing us her belly. My belly needs a tan!

Brandon just dominated his seafood. He loved the fresh crab legs and was my crab leg butler. He would pull out the meat for me. what a gentleman!

Ahh, the good life. Ava and I were looking at crabs in the sound as the sun was setting.

Sand dunes, fun in the sun and lots of ice cream

Here are more photos of our trip to the Outer Banks, NC. We had a really great time. I loved taking pictures there because the light was really amazing.
